Senior Process Safety and HSE Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled senior process safety and HSE engineer with extensive experience in oil and gas projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with process safety management principles and HSE standards across engineering, construction, and operational phases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate hazard studies to identify potential hazards and ensure safe design practices.
  • Prepare and review safety philosophies, fire risk assessments, DSRs, and hazard area classification reports to minimize risks.
  • Develop quantitative risk assessments, failure effects analysis, and essential safety study analyses to evaluate potential hazards.
  • Review P&IDs, layouts, and equipment specifications from a safety design perspective to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support design reviews, management of change, and alarm rationalization to maintain safe operating conditions.
HSE Management:
  • Support the development of HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements for projects to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Conduct site HSE inspections, toolbox talks, and compliance checks during construction or commissioning to enforce safety protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to international HSE standards, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
  • Lead or support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Drive a strong safety culture across project teams and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental, or Safety Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in process safety and HSE, preferably in EPC/design/project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management, risk assessment, and HSE regulations.
  • Proficient in tools like PHAST, PHA-Pro, BowTieXP, and DNV software.
  • Certifications in NEBOSH IGC/PSM, TÜV Functional Safety, or equivalent preferred.
