Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Manager to lead our accounting and bookkeeping team. As a Senior Accountant and Team Lead, you will oversee the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, manage full-cycle bookkeeping, process payroll for Australian employees, and prepare statutory reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team to achieve financial goals, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently, adhering to regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and other statutory reports, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve operational processes.
  • Oversee rostering, timesheet processing, and operational reporting, providing insights for informed decision-making.
  • Support financial analysis, management reporting, and liaise with auditors as needed.
Requirements:
  • 3–6 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting operations, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, with the ability to guide and mentor staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software, with strong knowledge of its features and capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, Fair Work, and ATO compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage both teams and client expectations effectively.
  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification, with a strong desire to continuously learn and develop new skills.
