Project Land Acquisition Specialist

We are a leading renewable energy company, developing, building, operating, and maintaining projects through our in-house engineering, procurement, construction, operations & maintenance teams.

We have a diverse portfolio of wind, solar, wind-solar hybrid, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects. Our current portfolio stands at approximately 10,069 MWp spread over 48 projects across four states in India.

  • As the Project Land Acquisition Manager, you will oversee and manage land acquisition activities for wind projects.

About the Position

  • You will be responsible for providing support for project development activities and collaborating with different departments for land acquisition and related tasks.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Risk assess land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence (DD) and documentation with internal/external lawyers to ensure clear and marketable title of potential lands before acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless land acquisition for wind energy projects.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • You must have significant experience in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land exploring site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports, and negotiating land acquisition.
  • A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • A thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability principles.

Key Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or Environmental Science.
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
