Executive Director

The School of Government is seeking an Executive Director to lead its academic and research initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a strategic vision for the institution, aligning institutional processes with the mission, and overseeing the development of high-quality curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in academic leadership, with experience in designing and implementing strategic plans, building high-performing teams, and driving innovation. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the School of Government, incorporating operational and financial planning.
  • Design and deliver high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of governance with a global perspective.
  • Lead and drive social initiatives, including alumni engagement and community outreach.
  • Recruit and develop high-calibre faculty to ensure effective delivery of teaching, research, and consultancy activities.
  • Focus on continuous faculty development programs to ensure faculty members are kept abreast of latest developments in their respective areas of specialization.
  • Engage with the society at large to understand its changing needs and incorporate the same in developing the curriculum of various programs.
  • Participate effectively in university activities as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities.
  • Track local, regional, and national legislative and policy issues related to the field and develop strategies to inform board, management, and staff.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in academic leadership, preferably in a higher education institution.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, team leadership, and innovation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
