Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to design and build complex large-scale distributed systems.

The successful candidate will have strong background in software engineering, with experience in designing and building large-scale systems. They will possess deep expertise in backend development, including system architecture, data modeling, and API design.

A strong bias for action and pragmatic approach to problem-solving is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have passion for the craft and drive to ship high-quality, impactful code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop: Design, develop, and operate foundational services that form backbone of our platform, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for performance and reliability.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship through exemplary code, design documents, and thoughtful code reviews. You will drive best practices in system design and raise bar for entire team.
  • Accountability and Impact: Take ownership of complex technical projects from conception to deployment. We are looking for engineers who are focused on delivering pragmatic, robust solutions.
  • Solve Complex Problems: Tackle most challenging technical issues in distributed computing, large-scale data processing, and overall system architecture.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven track record of designing and building complex systems.
  • Deep expertise in backend development, including system architecture, data modeling, and API design.
  • Strong bias for action and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C++). Experience with or interest in TypeScript is a plus.
  • Experience with modern cloud and data infrastructure is essential (e.g., Google Cloud, Docker/Kubernetes, Postgres).
