Backend Software Architect Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Backend Software Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop complex software systems using languages such as Java, Python, or Go.

  • Work with our data engineers to design and develop big data systems around technologies like Apache Spark and Hive.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on software engineering best practices.
  • Ensure the quality and security of our software systems through rigorous testing and code reviews.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and reuse.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in architecting big data systems.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems.
