Job Description

The role encompasses overseeing and controlling all ocean freight operations in the region, ensuring compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency.

The position supports the Regional Head in achieving Ocean profit objectives, drives process improvements, fosters stakeholder collaboration, and delivers superior customer service while effectively leading the Ocean operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and control all ocean freight operations (FCL, LCL, imports, exports) in the West region, ensuring compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency.
  2. Drive profit performance for the ocean freight product in the region, delivering on revenue, gross profit, and cost optimization targets.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors to secure competitive procurement rates and optimal space allocation.
  4. Collaborate with sales and account management teams to support business growth, improve customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), and expand market share in key trade lanes.
  5. Monitor regional performance through KPIs (transit times, documentation accuracy, operational efficiency) and take corrective action to ensure service reliability.
  6. Ensure adherence to company SOPs, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements while driving process improvements and digitalization.
  7. Lead, mentor, and develop the regional ocean operations team, ensuring engagement, capability building, and performance delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant working experience in the logistics industry in similar capacity with regional or profit responsibilities.
