Job Title: Compliance Engineering Leader

Job Description

The Compliance Engineering Leader is responsible for precise planning and execution of certification and compliance activities related to DGCA Type Certification, CEMILAC, FAA, EASA, Green & Blue UAS, and third-party laboratory tests.

This role involves studying and implementing various national and international regulations with respect to certification and compliance requirements of UAS in Civil and Defense sectors.

The candidate will closely interact, work, and collaborate with Product management, V&V, E&E, SW, Design and Development, Prototype, production, Certification bodies, DGCA, QCI, BIS, DFI, AUVSI, CEMILAC, and external test laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with internal stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of products, test requirements; generate requirement proposals and execution plans along with timeline requirements.
  2. Study and understand tender documents, scheme documents, compliance standards, drone rules, and generate test requirements proposal and obtain agreements with internal stakeholders.
  3. Ensure correct TC documentation, tests executions, TC audits, and cooperation with CB for expeditious releases of SoCs.
  4. Work with external stakeholders like CB/AE, DGCA, and QCI to make them understand the product environment and compliances.
  5. Effective communications and collaborations with CB, DGCA, QCI, CEMILAC, DFI, BIS, etc.
  6. Timely study of regulatory drafts and feedbacks in the interest of organization. Study and analysis of international regulations and preparation of presentations and compliance roadmaps.
  7. Creation and maintenance of certification roadmap in cooperation with Product management and strict adherence in execution.
  8. Planning and execution of periodic internal audits to identify/analyze compliance risks and implement mitigation measures with respective departments.
  9. Team management, KRAs, and appraisals.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong engineering background preferably in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering, minimum 10-15 years experience in technical compliances, minimum 5 years in UAS industry.

Exceptional understanding and hands-on experience working with regulatory frameworks – National/International.

Proven experience with product testing, process analysis, and certification activities.

Excellent communication skills with ability to analyze risks and initiate mitigation plans.

Good interpersonal, decision making, and prioritization skills.

Documentation skills and record keeping.

Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing.

Flexibility to travel to and work with external agencies for work activities.
