Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our data governance initiatives, leveraging their expertise in data cataloging and management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Alation, possessing a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, and metadata management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the implementation of data governance solutions using Alation's core components.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships across the organization to promote effective data governance practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data catalogs, ensuring accurate and timely metadata management.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making, empowering stakeholders to make informed choices.
  • Prioritize and resolve complex data-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve seamless data flow.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data cataloging, or data management, with at least 3+ years of experience working with Alation.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, and metadata management.
  • Experience with relational databases, ETL tools, and data warehouse environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc.) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to configure Alation's core components and has hands-on experience on functional architecture.
  • Experience in implementing Alation within large enterprise environments.
  • Data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar is a plus.
