Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Investment Risk Manager to oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of market, credit, operational, liquidity, and regulatory risks. The ideal candidate will develop and implement risk strategies, support risk projects, integrate portfolio risk, and flag outliers for corrective action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify potential risks and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Change Management: Oversee changes within the organization to ensure minimal disruption to risk management processes.
  • Investment Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor and report on risk exposure and effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Operational Risk and Internal Audit: Identify and address operational risks, and participate in internal audits to ensure robust risk management practices.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field (a master's degree or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA is preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within an investment management or financial services organization.
  • Candidates with investments/analytics backgrounds are suitable.
  • Prior experience in wealth management, mutual funds, PMS, or alternate investments is advantageous.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using risk models, quantitative analysis, and stress testing.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex risk information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools such as Bloomberg, FACTSET, Barra, etc.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Report writing and documentation capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of key regulations: SEBI – Wealth Managers, RIA, Mutual Funds, etc.
