Job Title: Database Technical Lead

Job Summary:

  • A strong experience of developing PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages is required.
  • The selected candidate will create new and review existing PL/SQL packages to support development efforts.
  • Responsibilities include the design, development, testing, release, maintenance, and technical support from database development.
  • Reviews PL/SQL packages for changes/performance/tuning improvements and ensures high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle (RDBMS) Database is essential.
  • Coding skills to write complex SQL queries, views, and materialized views are necessary.
  • Coding skills to develop PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers are required.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL tuning is a must.
  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and data analysts to support database-related needs.
  • Develop scripts and tools for database monitoring, management, and automation.
  • Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex database-related problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment.
  • High energy results-driven person with strong interpersonal skills is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with confidence and clarity are essential.
  • Hands-on style, creative thinker, and problem solver are needed.
  • Ability to evolve with a rapidly changing environment is a must.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Self-directed and responsive to customer expectations are expected.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently is necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead a team of database developers as a team leader.
  • Implement new business features based on requirement specification/technical design.
  • Fix bugs in existing applications reported by clients or internal testers.
  • Refactor existing code.
  • Execute development tests, create unit tests.
  • Participate in creating internal business specifications, creating technical design for business features, breaking down features to technical tasks, workload estimation.
  • Cooperate with colleagues in the development team/entire company.
  • Should be able to lead a team of database developers.
  • Team leader attitude and qualities are expected.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Open to learn new technologies and function-domain.
  • Willingness to be available outside of normal office hours is a plus.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with a solution mindset approach.
  • Ability to prioritize, taking into consideration various alternate perspectives.
