Functional Cost Controller Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled functional cost controller to play a key role in our organization's financial processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial processes, providing insightful financial reporting, and ensuring business risks and opportunities are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and track transformation initiatives aligned with the functional strategy.
  • Support the leadership team to improve processes and achieve functional excellence.
  • Provide actionable financial reporting to the leadership team.
  • Ensure business risks and opportunities are managed to deliver optimal financial outcomes.
  • Initiate and/or participate in projects to enhance functional performance.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
Financial Process Management:
  • Responsible for functional profit and loss analysis and relevant balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and monitor functional cost development, including operations, one-offs, and projects.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including month-end closing, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting.
  • Conduct monthly actuals vs budget analysis and track transformation initiative savings.
  • Collaborate with accounting and other finance departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain robust SOX and internal controls to ensure timely cost recognition.
  • Interact with the tax team on fiscal matters related to overhead cost sharing or projects.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Support continuous improvement of financial processes, including month-end closing, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and reporting across functional areas.
  • Implement best practices within the functional control team.
  • Participate in ad-hoc improvement projects.

About You

Applicants should possess relevant experience in financial analyst/control functions, knowledge of ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.

A strong understanding of business acumen, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills is required.
