Key Leadership Position: General Manager

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the management of our internal audit function. This will involve the development of a comprehensive risk-based annual Internal Audit plan, identifying and finalizing vendors for program activities, and executing internal audits in-house or outsourced as approved by the audit committee. The role also entails tracking and reporting on open Internal Audit observations, developing and maintaining Internal Audit SOPs, and creating a repository of audit programs and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a risk-based annual Internal Audit plan based on management inputs, business priorities, and assessment of the business risk environment.
  • Identify and finalize vendors to be contracted for execution of program activities.
  • Lead execution of internal audits (in-house or outsourced) as per the annual plan approved by the audit committee.
  • Track, monitor, and report the status of open Internal Audit observations to all stakeholders every month.
  • Lead follow-up audits to assess efficacy and effectiveness of management remediation on noted observations.
  • Develop and maintain Internal Audit SOPs, including templates, protocols, and documentation requirements.
  • Create a repository of audit programs, checklists, templates, and tools for standardization and consistency in the execution of the internal audit program.
  • Plan, develop, and maintain audit support tools to improve audit process quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with Risk Management to identify and assess entity and functional level risks.
  • Provide input to risk identification and assessment programs for new emerging risks identified during internal audit execution.
  • Monitor risk mitigation steps and initiatives taken by management to assess their effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant certification.
  • CIA, CISA, or CWA certifications desired.
  • 10-15 years of experience in implementing, delivering, and embedding risk management at strategic and operational levels.
  • Proven experience in undertaking audits across diverse areas of an organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface and influence all levels of management.
