We are seeking a skilled Procurement leader to join our team.

Job Title: Head of Procurement

Location: Tamilnadu, India

Industry: Chemical Manufacturing

Experience:

15+ years in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.

A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles in chemical or process industries.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Supply Chain; MBA preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories.
  • Monitor global and domestic chemical markets to anticipate pricing trends and availability.
Vendor & Contract Management
  • Identify, assess, and develop suppliers (domestic and international).
  • Lead negotiations and manage long-term agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines in procurement contracts.
Cost Optimization & Budgeting
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and vendor consolidation.
  • Prepare and monitor procurement budgets.
Inventory & Supply Assurance
  • Maintain optimum stock levels while minimizing working capital.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.
  • Drive digitalization and automation of procurement processes using ERP systems.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and company compliance standards.
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and implement contingency plans.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
