Job Title: Mortgage Legal Specialist

The role of Mortgage Legal Specialist is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning of our mortgage business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing and finalizing title diligence reports for construction finance business, ensuring that they comply with company policies and are legally enforceable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and finalize title diligence reports for construction finance business.
  • Approve title search reports for properties offered as security, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Coordinate with external lawyers to finalize TSIRs.
  • Draft, review, and standardize loan and security documents.
  • Develop legal policies and procedures for various classes of collateral accepted across market segments and regions.
  • Collaborate with the credit and risk teams on a case-by-case basis.
  • Identify and highlight enforcement risks to senior management regarding cases.
  • Clarify legal queries from title search reports.
  • Provide documentation support, including vetting, drafting, and modifying agreements, notices, and petitions.
  • Build strong relationships with advocates, regulatory, and statutory authorities.
  • Enhance capability at branch level to improve productivity.
  • Improve TAT for TSIRs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of title diligence for collaterals in Delhi NCR and other North states for retail mortgage business with NBFCs and HFCs.
  • Excellent knowledge of processes and regulations governing NBFCs and HFCs.
  • In-depth understanding of transfer of property and land laws.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RBI and SEBI regulations.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor and collaboratively as part of a diversified team.
  • Capacity to take ownership of the profile being handled.
