Job Title: Mortgage Business Manager

To lead the underwriting of mortgage business and manage a portfolio in an assigned branch or location.

  • Review and assess complex loan applications within defined guidelines, making decisions or recommending approval to higher authorities.
  • Underwrite proposals according to laid-down policies and procedures, ensuring agreed service level agreements and managing business volumes.
  • Engage with customers to establish creditworthiness and complete required documents and verifications through telephone, field, and collateral visits.
  • Analyze income-to-obligation ratios, loan-to-value ratios, and the rationale behind their calculations, impacting loan performance over long tenures.
  • Maintain portfolio management information systems, delinquency reports, and other operational MIS for the cluster, regularly reporting these findings.
  • BUILD EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THIRD PARTIES TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL CLIENT OUTCOMES.
  • OWN AND RESOLVE CLIENT INQUIRIES USING INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO OVERCOME CHALLENGES.
  • EXCEED SERVICE QUALITY STANDARDS AND CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE PROCESS EFFICIENCY.
  • Critically review credit proposals to identify industry, business, financial, management, and facility structure risks contained within.
  • Ensure collateral and credit risk mitigation to enable approving authorities to make informed decisions on credit proposals.
  • Enable quick turnaround times for credit lending proposals, encompassing loans against property and home loans, in close liaison with sales teams.
  • Ongoing review of credit exposures to ensure they remain bankable.
  • Facilitate critical review and documentation of proposals, effectively monitoring client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases, taking steps for risk mitigation as needed while adhering to legal and documentation norms and policies.
  • Manage the credit underwriting function of the branch, facilitating quick turnaround of credit lending proposals in close liaison with local credit analysts and sales teams.
  • Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between Movement On Visit.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree
  • Masters/Post Graduate degree
  • CA/MBA certification (preferable)
