About the Role
  • We are seeking an accomplished Customs and Trade Professional to lead our team in ensuring full compliance with Customs, EXIM, and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) regulations across India and our group.
  • Your primary objective will be to build and implement internal controls for timely completion of provisional assessments, filing appeals, refunds, FTP claims, and more.
  • You will outline requirements for Import/Export licenses, URNs for Coal, Steel, etc., for products imported/exported by our group.
  • A key aspect of this role is ensuring that customs/FTP benefits align with law and business model, and HSN classification is accurate.
  • You will also focus on realising FTP benefits such as Duty Drawback, MEIS, RoDTEP, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Additionally, you will explore avenues of duty optimisation, operational schemes, and other planning opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Identifying Customs risks and streamlining them is another critical responsibility.
  • Moreover, you will track and oversee closure of obligations under Customs/FTP schemes, implementing process improvements and digitisation of Customs processes along the way.
  • Finally, you will monitor contingent liabilities/tax provisions related to Customs, EXIM, FTP, and maintain MIS and control of related issues.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Customs, EXIM, and FTP regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with customs software and systems
