Purchasing Executive Job Description

The Purchasing Executive plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of electrical materials. This involves vendor management, negotiation, and technical understanding of electrical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate vendors for electrical products (cables, switchgears, panels, etc.) to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Floating RFQs, preparing price comparison sheets, and negotiating for optimal pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Reviewing and interpreting SLDs (Single Line Diagrams) and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to guarantee purchases align with project needs.
  • Maintaining and updating vendor lists, developing new suppliers, and conducting vendor audits for quality assurance.
  • Coordinating with project/logistics teams for dispatches, tracking, and resolving any delays or discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records (quotations, POs, payments, approvals).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–4 years of procurement experience in an electrical trading company.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and email communication.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
