Reading and Literature Lead

Job Description:

The Reading and Literature Lead is a strategic role that requires vision, leadership, and a deep understanding of literacy instruction. This individual will be responsible for driving excellence in reading and literature programs across all relevant age groups or academic levels.

This includes developing, implementing, and overseeing high-quality reading and literature programs that foster a deep appreciation for reading and critical analysis of texts. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers to ensure seamless program execution and effective student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement reading and literature programs aligned with educational standards and best practices.
  2. Collaborate with teachers to enhance literacy instruction and student outcomes.
  3. Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the community to promote a love of reading.
  4. Analyze data to inform program decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  5. Provide professional development opportunities to support teacher growth and expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in English or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of progressive experience in teaching reading and literature at K-12 level.
