SQL Server Database Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, upgradation, and migration of SQL Servers. Your expertise in configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions will ensure business continuity.

  • Installation/upgradation/migration of SQL Servers is essential.
  • You will apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server as part of your duties.
  • Automated alerts will be configured to send mail to the team if there are any issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets on a daily basis.
  • Maintenance plans for backups, database integrity checks, rebuilding indexes, updating statistics, and running all jobs without issues must be set up.
  • Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and fix them.
  • Join bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1 (SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents.
  • Hands-on experience in Always On and DB Mirroring is required.
  • Execute all changes of db schema and maintain a controlled development database environment.
  • Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Provide day-to-day support of high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases - Identify root causes of production problems and work with developers to resolve such problems.
  • Work on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.
  • Willingness to work in 24X7 projects (Shifts).
  • Experience in scripting using Perl, PowerShell is required.
  • Experience in AWS/Azure is necessary.

  • SQL Cloud-based solutions and experience.
