Credit Fund Accounting Manager

Job Description:

We seek an experienced Credit Fund Accounting Manager to lead our senior-level team in closed-ended fund accounting operations. You will oversee all activities, working closely with the client's Fund Administrators, Relationship Managers, and Operations Heads.

This is a senior-level position requiring extensive experience in Private Credit Funds, specifically within the financial services sector. Private Credit Funds experience is mandatory, along with a strong understanding of the Credit Fund Structures (Master-Feeder, SPVs, Blockers).

  1. Oversee fund administrators and team members, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of fund accounting services.
  2. Manage multiple funds, including Private Equity Credit Funds.
  3. Handle complex P&L allocations across multiple entities within fund structures (Master-Feeder, SPVs, Blockers).
  4. Assist teams in performing waterfall calculations and ensure their accuracy.
  5. Ensure compliance with operational procedures and checklists.
  6. Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to team members.
  7. Oversee task allocation and delegation to ensure optimal team efficiency.
  8. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within fund accounting operations.
  9. Manage team capacity to support new business growth.
  10. Act as a primary escalation point for client inquiries and issue resolution.
  11. Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external counterparts.
  12. Participate in new business pitches and assist in resource planning for service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics (or international equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience in fund accounting, with at least 6+ years in Private Credit Funds Accounting.
  • Experience specifically in Private Credit Funds.
  • Hands-on experience with Cash Reconciliation, Expense Reimbursement.
  • Understanding of Loan Lifecycle / Letter of Credit / Covenant Tracking / Loan Settlements.
  • Knowledge of Capital Calls, Distributions, and Mfee.
  • Exposure to Performance Reporting, IRR (Gross & Net).
  • Hands-on experience with Partners Capital allocations, Partner Transfers, PCAP.
  • Worked on Financial Reporting (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, TB).
  • Exposure to Waterfall Calculations, Hurdle Rate, Catch-up, and Carry.
  • Familiar with Compliance Reporting, Investor-related reports.
  • Worked with Investran or similar fund accounting systems.
  • Ability to prepare SOPs / identify Process Improvement opportunities.

Fund accounting professionals must be well-versed in accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as Excel, QuickBooks, or SAP, is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are also essential. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
