Cloud Operations Engineer

Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud deployments, systems, and services to ensure high levels of availability, redundancy, and business continuity.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud infrastructure, automation tools, and processes such as Azure Dev/Ops, continuous integration, and infrastructure component automation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participating in high-value customer engagements as a trusted security advisor
• Building, deploying, and managing Virtual Machines, PaaS services, and automation in the Azure Cloud environment
• Leading and acting as an SME for Azure platforms (IaaS, Intune/Autopilot, etc.) within the operations team
• Creating deployment guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and performing Knowledge Transfers to other team members
• Experience with performing backups, upgrading, performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, deployments, and disaster recovery within the Azure Cloud environment
• Implementing and conducting weekly, monthly, and quarterly health checks for the Cloud environment and all integration platforms
• Performing system audits to ensure performance benchmarks are met and providing recommendations and roadmaps for future enhancements, considering growth and optimization
• Maintaining and updating Cloud support policies, practices, and methodologies
• Resolving support tickets within the ITSM platform tool; incidents, service requests, problem tickets, and change requests
• Designing, writing, and delivering scripts and automation code to improve the availability, scalability, reliability, and efficiency of On-prem, Azure Cloud, and application integration platforms
• Preventing problem recurrence through repeatable automated processing
• Reviewing current toolsets and unlocking capabilities not leveraged by the operations team
• Participating in process improvement discussions, identifying bottlenecks/challenges, and providing technical insight
• Assisting in scoping and deployment of configuration management tools such as CMDB, Ansible, Puppet, etc., to improve efficiency and enhance the end-user experience
• Participating in POCs and projects focused on business transformation, including new technology deployment, ensuring uptime of systems, and integration with different business systems
• Providing guidance and building documentation around the overall architecture and operations of technology
• Performing tasks to implement intake requests with utmost proficiency and a forward-looking approach
• Taking ownership of all assigned tasks, projects, and driving to resolution; researching and escalating to the vendor, as necessary
• Developing plans for system upgrades, enhancements, and creating architectural diagrams
• Managing, supporting, and enhancing Voice Platforms; MS Teams and Cisco UC suite of tools (UCCX/CUCM)
• Participating in daily, weekly, and monthly knowledge sharing sessions to guide technical skills enhancement for the Service Desk team
• Managing and supporting escalation requests from the Service Desk team
• Providing senior-level mentorship to Service Desk team members on daily issues
• Creating and regularly updating knowledge articles for the Service Desk team and the operations team to share knowledge

Requirements:

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure and automation
• Experience with Azure Dev/Ops, continuous integration, and infrastructure component automation
• Knowledge of Azure platforms (IaaS, Intune/Autopilot, etc.)
• Ability to create deployment guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and perform Knowledge Transfers
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
