We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Commis. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills and work in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stock management: Receive and store raw materials and ingredients in the assigned kitchen area, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Cooking techniques: Master basic cooking methods, including cutting of ingredients and preparing daily mis-en-place for the assigned station.
  • Food preparation: Prepare food items according to standard recipe cards, maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.

Maintain a high level of hygiene and safety standards within the kitchen, adhering to hotel policies and procedures. Report any hazards or unsafe working conditions to your supervisor promptly.

Team Collaboration:
  • Support the team: Provide effective support to colleagues to ensure a seamless service delivery.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure that all food products meet the highest quality standards, exceeding guest expectations.
  • Liaison with other departments: Collaborate with the Catering and Stewarding Departments to achieve event objectives and maintain standards.
Operational Efficiency:
  • Cost optimization: Identify cost-effective ways to use resources, minimizing waste and excess.
  • Inventory management: Assist with stock take and rotation for the assigned section.
Professional Development:
  • Recipe adherence: Follow all recipes, methods, and instructions from the Executive Chef.
  • Hygiene maintenance: Ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Quality presentation: Present all food items in the assigned function to the highest standard.
