Web Development Department Head

Job Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional Web Development Department Head to lead our team of frontend and backend developers in delivering high-quality, pixel-perfect, and high-performance websites and web applications.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of web development technologies and best practices. They will be responsible for managing a team of 3-6 web developers, ensuring timely and bug-free delivery, and collaborating closely with design, performance, and brand teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of end-to-end website and web app projects from kickoff to deployment.
  • Translate briefs, UI/UX designs, and business goals into robust web solutions.
  • Ensure timely, bug-free delivery and deployment.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3-6 web developers (frontend, backend, full-stack).
  • Conduct code reviews, set coding standards, and foster a strong tech culture.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure design fidelity and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with SEO, performance marketing, and branding teams to ensure SEO-ready, fast-loading, scalable websites.
  • Guide content and creative teams on what's technically feasible.

Technical Expertise:

  • Hands-on expertise in both frontend and backend (or strong full-stack).
  • Experience delivering responsive, SEO-friendly, and performance-optimized sites.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in web development, with 1-2 years in a leadership or project management role.
  • Strong project management, task prioritization, and delivery focus.
  • Ability to manage clients, clarify requirements, and propose solutions.
