Wireless Engineer Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Wireless Engineer to design, implement, and manage our network infrastructure.

As a Wireless Engineer at our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our wireless networks. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and maintenance for our existing network infrastructure, as well as designing and implementing new sites for our business.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of Aruba Central, Aruba switches, wireless deployment, and advanced wireless and switching concepts.

  • You should have solid experience in configuring, deploying, installing, and troubleshooting Aruba/Cisco switches, Wireless APs, and Aruba central.
  • Configuration and deployment of new Aruba switches, Wireless Controller, and other network infrastructure devices is also required.
  • You will perform analysis and troubleshooting of networking, wireless, and ISE related problems.
  • Providing support to customers on various issues reported by users, clients, and other connecting application integrations is a key responsibility.
  • Upgrades and patching of existing deployments like Switches, Wireless clusters or Access points are also part of the job.
  • A working knowledge in the operation of Ethernet LAN switching protocols and standards including VLANs, VLAN aggregation, Ether Channel, PVLANs, Spanning Tree & Rapid Spanning Tree, 802.1Q is necessary.
  • Experience in Infoblox(DHCP/DNS/IPAM) is also required.
  • Network Monitoring tools like HPE-IMC and Zabbix, as well as good knowledge of SNMP, are essential.
  • You should understand and have basic knowledge of 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, different EAP-methods, PKI.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto/Routing basics and working is required.
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards - Incident, Change & Problem Management is necessary.
  • Problem Solving, handling problem tickets, and exposure to large networks are also expected.
  • Ability to work in 24X7 Shifts and handle multiple concurrent tasks is a must.
