Job Opportunity for a Culinary Professional

This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Line Cook in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare menu items according to the supervisor's instructions.
  • Advanced knife handling skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in any section of the kitchen is required.
  • Good food knowledge and understanding of culinary terms are necessary.
  • Must be able to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
  • Efficient task completion, work productivity, and Public Health standards adherence are expected.
  • Maintain assigned area cleanliness for inspections.
  • Report for duty on time, follow supervisor's instructions, and maintain personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene according to company rules.

Financial Acumen:

  • Cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment is essential.

Motivational Aspects:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Education:

  • A minimum of 4 years in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service, with at least 2 years as Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree is required.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural and dynamic environments are necessary.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills are required.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of personalized services principles and processes, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills are essential.
  • Intermediate computer software skills are required.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, Debits/Credits, adjusting entries, and corrections.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and establish good rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office.

In addition to the stated hiring requirements, internal candidates must fulfill the following:

  • Completion of at least one contract as Commis Cook with a performance rating of satisfactory or above, along with demonstrated leadership skills.
