Corporate Tax Consultant

The role of a Corporate Tax Consultant involves assisting clients with corporate tax issues, tax advisories, and cross-border transactions. The individual will be part of the International Tax team and will work closely with senior members to plan and manage assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Engagements: Taking responsibility for client engagements and assignments.
  • Handling Client Engagements: Handling client engagements end-to-end related to Direct Tax Laws, such as Tax Structuring, Tax Advisory, On-going Compliance, Tax Litigation support, etc.
  • Analysis and Research: Independently analyzing, researching technical issues, and interpreting provisions under the Income Tax Act as also provisions pertaining to International Tax, dealing with interpretation of Tax Treaties.
  • Tax Controversy/Litigation: Representing in assessments, appeals, and other related income-tax matters of clients before Tax Officer.
  • Litigation Management: Maintaining the status of open litigation, tax risks analysis, and defense strategy on an ongoing basis.
  • Submissions: Drafting submissions for tax assessments, appeals, penalty, show cause, revision, order giving effects, refunds, recovery, rectification, and other income-tax proceedings.
  • Communication: Developing good rapport with client management and providing timely and high-quality services and managing client expectations.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinating with Seniors & Partner on the planning and management of the assignments, taking technical sessions as per learning and development initiative, effectively and cordially handling team members which may comprise of Associates/Trainees, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Chartered Accountant (CA) with experience in Direct Tax - Income Tax & DTAAs, International Tax.
  2. Working knowledge of FEMA & Corporate Law.
  3. Willingsness of handling tax office matters.
  4. Minimum 3-5 years of work experience post-qualification.
