Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

  • Provide analytical support to laboratory operations by releasing precise and accurate results and ensuring the scope of testing parameters is sufficient to build trust with stakeholders.
  • Offer ongoing technical assistance to colleagues, investigate quality issues and deliver improvement actions with follow-up.
  • Develop and validate methods for new testing procedures in the laboratory.
  • Document standard operating procedures, identify trends in testing results using data analysis software and provide input to team members to improve the quality control system.
  • Maintain organized and accurate data, including spreadsheets, graphs and reports.
  • Ensure data reporting systems are functioning properly across functional areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct ring tests aimed at verifying and controlling methods and equipment.
  • Handle routine issues and problems under direct supervision, escalating more complex issues to appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, possess a positive attitude with high initiative levels, and communicate effectively.
  • Necessary English reading capacity.
  • Experience with chemical analysis, preferably of oils and fats, starch, sweeteners, etc.
  • Knowledge of calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting various analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP, NIR, etc. Ability to demonstrate sound understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), method validation and report writing.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in the food industry laboratory setting.
