Database Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Database Administrator to lead the modernization of our legacy systems and design databases for future applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, design, and performance tuning, with expertise in SQL Server and other RDBMS.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available database solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management.
  • Lead database capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy, and backup/restore processes.
  • Implement and enforce database security controls including encryption, access controls, and auditing.
  • Collaborate with teams to support software releases and schema changes.
  • Automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Manage and troubleshoot replication, clustering, and failover configurations.
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for database systems.
  • Evaluate new database technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, design, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in SQL Server, with working knowledge of other RDBMS.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools.
  • Experience with HA/DR solutions and solid understanding of database security, compliance, and role-based access control.
  • Proficient in automation scripting and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms is a strong plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
