Buying and Merchandising Professional

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Buying and Merchandising Professional to contribute to our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing merchandise, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring high-quality products at competitive prices.
  • This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • You will be responsible for researching future product trends, identifying new opportunities, and supporting negotiations with our supply base.
  • Key responsibilities include developing and sourcing products at the right time to meet customer needs, managing stock and style options, and tracking competitor activities through market research.
  • Other key tasks include presenting products effectively, developing promotional plans, and reviewing and adjusting season and weekly plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Buying and Merchandising strategy development
  • Source merchandise and coordinate with vendors for designated departments
  • Work closely with Merchandising team to ensure timely delivery of assigned purchase orders
  • Research future product offerings and technological trends to meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with Marketing department and management to plan pricing strategies and negotiate optimal pricing with suppliers
  • Maximize current sourcing channels, identify new opportunities, and support negotiations with supply base
  • Develop and source products at the right time to meet customer needs
  • Support Designers in developing styles, including design research trips, fabric and print advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles
  • Manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns with Merchandising team
  • Track competitor activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, color, fabric, etc.
  • Present products effectively, develop promotional plans, and review and adjust season and weekly plans
  • Identify and develop vendors, obtain range merchandise after negotiation, and work on Visual Merchandising promotions with Marketing and Design teams
  • Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors and set standards for quality of merchandise with QA
  • Reconcile store plans and fix departmental financial plans, and conduct annual reviews of supplier performance with QA

Requirements:

  • Strong background in Buying and Merchandising
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Strong research skills to identify future product trends and opportunities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
