We are seeking an exceptional Product Engineering Manager to spearhead the development of our products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product engineering and excellent leadership skills.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing the end-to-end product engineering process for multiple product lines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish robust processes, and driving execution. The successful candidate will be hands-on, able to take charge of product engineering requirements, and responsible for product development, testing, deployment, and maintenance within agreed time frames.

The position requires a thought leader who can mentor on architecture, design, and technical aspects of products, identify and deploy suitable tools, frameworks, techniques, and processes to enhance productivity, and contribute to the selection and hiring of product engineering team members.

The Product Engineering Manager will also be responsible for adapting and iterating quickly based on user and business feedback and metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in product development companies would be highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile software development and management methods, including user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.
  • Adept at using off-the-shelf software components rather than building everything from scratch if they meet requirements.
  • Ability to value progress over perfection and have a track record of shipping value to customers.
  • Hands-on experience with TypeScript and confidence in using JavaScript-based front-end frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte, and back-end technologies like Node.js.
  • Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and experience in building and deploying RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Proven ability to build and ship features for high-traffic web applications and mobile applications.
  • Good understanding of RDBMS (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with observability tools to identify and isolate problems.
