Job Title: Financial Project Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial project manager to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project budgets across multiple concurrent projects.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Project Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets in collaboration with project managers.
  • Track Actual Costs: Track actual project costs versus budgets, particularly staff time allocation and related expenses.
  • Variance Analysis: Identify variances, trends, and potential overruns; propose corrective actions proactively.

Resource Utilization:

  • Staff Deployment: Maintain real-time visibility of staff deployment across projects.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with HR and project leads to track man-hours and ensure efficient resource usage.
  • Cost-Efficiency Insights: Support project scheduling with cost-efficiency insights.

Financial Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Weekly/Monthly Reports: Prepare weekly/monthly project cost reports with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Cost Insights: Provide cost insights to senior leadership for resource planning and profitability analysis.

Process & Compliance:

  • Financial Control Systems: Establish financial control systems, procedures, and reporting formats.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls and client-specific budgetary requirements.
  • Audits & Reviews: Conduct financial audits and internal reviews to validate expense accuracy.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Liaison: Act as a liaison between the finance team and project managers.
  • Detailed Data: Contribute to project review meetings with detailed financial data.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Group-Level Reporting: Support the Head of Finance in group-level reporting and forecasting, integrating project financials into broader business plans.
  • International Tax Matters: Contribute to international tax matters, inter-company transactions, and the optimization of cross-border project flows.
  • Client-Facing Reporting: Assist with client-facing reporting requirements, including detailed financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Internal Controls: Champion strong internal controls and promote financial discipline within project teams.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CMA, CA or MBA, is a plus.
  • Experience: 8–10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a project-based or consulting environment.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of project accounting, time tracking, and resource management systems.
  • Tools: Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP/project management tools.
  • Presentation Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
