Database Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances, as well as ensuring database security, backups, and recovery.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (on-premises and/or cloud)
  • Monitor and optimize database performance
  • Perform database backups, restores, and recovery
  • Manage SQL Server security (authentication, permissions, roles)
  • Optimize SQL queries and indexes for better performance
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues
  • Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
  • Automate repetitive DBA tasks
  • Perform capacity planning and storage management
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with development and support teams
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization (PTO)
  • Experience working with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, or AWS RDS
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certification: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
  • Knowledge of DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines for database code deployment
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP
