Database Professionals

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, Configure and Maintain SQL Server instances.
  • Monitor database performance and implement changes to ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform regular backups and restores of databases to prevent data loss.
  • Manage SQL Server security by controlling user access and permissions.
  • Optimize database queries and indexes for improved performance.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues promptly.
  • Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SQL Server.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell or other tools.
  • Plan database capacity to ensure sufficient storage and resources.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with development and support teams on database-related projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and SSMS.
  • Experience with backup, restore and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of HA and DR options for SQL Server.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Profiler and Extended Events.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certification in Azure Database Administration.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
  • Knowledge of DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines for database code deployment.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS and GCP.
