Job Description

Operational Risk Management Specialist Role

As an Operational Risk Management Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and managing independent projects across a wide range of operational risk management areas. This includes internal control assessments, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies, third-party risk management, incident management, loss data analysis, and business continuity planning for financial institutions.

  • Review and validate existing frameworks, policies, procedures, and risk and control matrices to ensure theoretical soundness and identify control weaknesses.
  • Contribute to the firm-wide Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercise and meet business needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Demonstrate independence in planning and stakeholder engagement, testing design and execution, results interpretation, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage independent projects across operational risk management areas.
  • Review and validate existing frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the firm-wide RCSA exercise.
  • Meet business needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Implement robust risk management practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • CA or MBA degree.
  • Relevant master's program or certifications such as Project Management or ORM certifications.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of process risk and controls.
  • Good knowledge of financial services industry, businesses, regulators, and their roles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work with global teams and stakeholders.
