Job Opportunity: Senior Controls Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing advanced control systems for large-scale Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and Parcel Handling Solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled leader who wants to combine technical expertise and global project exposure, delivering automation solutions that ensure operational excellence in airports and parcel hubs worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of 15+ Controls Engineers, ensuring skill and competency development through structured training programs and career progression opportunities.
  • Manage team escalations, daily resource allocation, hiring, and subcontracting activities to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as a consultant to identify project risks and opportunities, driving improvements across teams.
  • Monitor system performance validation through thorough FAT/SAT testing and troubleshoot control system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to department KPIs by identifying areas for process improvement and implementing standardization and best practices.
  • Provide technical oversight during commissioning and ensure smooth customer handovers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership with proven experience managing 15+ engineers and strong planning and organizational abilities with a focus on delivery within time and budget.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in global, high-demand project environments and proactive, innovative, and improvement-driven mindset.
  • Technical knowledge of Siemens PLC (mandatory) and Allen Bradley PLC (preferred), with hands-on experience in the design and execution of integrated control systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field), along with 10–12 years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens required; Allen Bradley a plus).
