Job Title: Refractory Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of refractory linings in furnaces, boilers, kilns, and industrial equipment.
  • Oversee the execution of hot and cold insulation works for pipelines, equipment, and structures.
  • Ensure proper in-situ casting of cold insulation according to project requirements.
  • Verify selection and application of refractory materials such as fire bricks, castables, ceramic fiber, and insulating concretes.
Team Management and Coordination:
  • Assign tasks and oversee the performance of refractory and insulation teams.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and site managers to meet deadlines.
  • Train workers on installation techniques and safety practices.
Quality Control and Compliance:
  • Inspect refractory and insulation works to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Identify defects or failures and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and industry codes such as ASTM, API, ISO, and BS.
Safety and Risk Management:
  • Enforce safety protocols during refractory, insulation, and in-situ casting operations.
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and safety compliance during high-risk activities.
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in refractory works, hot and cold insulation, and in-situ casting of cold insulation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with refractory materials (fire bricks, castables, ceramic fibers, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
