JOB SUMMARY

The Testing Lab Assistant will support the testing and validation of Li-ion battery cells, working closely with engineers to execute test protocols, manage lab equipment, and ensure accurate data collection. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of the testing lab and contributing to the performance and safety validation of battery cells.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test Execution: Assist in setting up and conducting performance, safety, and durability tests on Li-ion battery cells, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Equipment Management: Operate, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment, including environmental chambers, cycling testers, and diagnostic tools.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Record test data accurately, ensure proper documentation, and assist in preparing test reports for the engineering team.
  • Sample Preparation: Assist in the preparation and handling of battery cell samples for various tests, ensuring they meet test specifications.
  • Lab Organisation: Maintain an organised and clean lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Support Engineers: Work closely with testing and validation engineers, providing assistance in troubleshooting, setting up experiments, and monitoring test progress.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of battery technology and lab testing equipment, with a willingness to learn and operate advanced testing tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in following test protocols, recording data, and ensuring accuracy in lab work.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to maintain a well-organised workspace, manage lab equipment, and keep accurate records.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with lab safety procedures and proper handling of hazardous materials.


Desired:

  • Collaboration: Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset to work effectively with engineers and lab staff.
  • Basic Data Analysis: Competence in data entry and preliminary analysis of test results.



Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications

  • This role is ideal for candidates with a background in technical or lab work with a degree in chemical engineering, materials science or electrochemistry, who are eager to contribute to the testing and validation of cutting-edge Li-ion battery technologies.
