About the RoleThe IT Data Protection Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data protection strategies within an organization. This role focuses on creating comprehensive data protection solutions that ensure the availability, integrity, and security of business-critical data.Key ResponsibilitiesDesigning both on-premise and cloud-based data protection solutionsImplementing disaster recovery plans and conducting DR testsOptimizing data protection systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiencyCollaborating with IT infrastructure teams, storage administrators, and security teams to ensure data protection solutions meet organizational needs and compliance standardsRequired Skills and QualificationsStrong knowledge of backup technologies, storage systems, and data protection methodologies (e.g., incremental, differential, full backups)Experience with cloud backup solutions and hybrid backup environments (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Backup)Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and the backup challenges associated with virtualized environmentsKnowledge of data security and encryption standards, as well as compliance regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to data protection and recovery issuesScripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate data protection tasks and processesMinimum of 10 years of experience in data protection and disaster recovery, with a strong focus on enterprise data protection solutionsProven experience designing, deploying, and managing data protection infrastructures, including cloud-based, virtual, and on-premises solutionsIn-depth experience with data protection and backup software (e.g., Veeam, Veritas, Commvault, NetBackup, etc.)BenefitsThis role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development.Working EnvironmentYou will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of experienced professionals who share your passion for data protection.
