Job Type: ContractDepartment: Active Directory Required, FinanceSalary: $49, $61,458.00Close Date (closes at 12:00 am on date noted below):December 1, 2025Hours per Week: 35Openings: 4Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Supervisor, Tax, the Tax Customer Service Representative is primarily responsible for providing customer service to taxpayers, developers, lawyers and financial institutions, and is the first point of contact in property tax customer inquiries. This position also provides administrative assistance to daily tax procedures and processes.Major Job ResponsibilitiesActs as the first point of contact for ratepayers and third parties regarding tax inquiries for tax phone queueProvides front-line customer service as the first point of contact for ratepayers and third parties with in-person tax inquiries.Filters and routes incoming calls to the appropriate Assessment staff when inquiries are complexServes as the primary point of contact for internal departments—including Risk and Development Financing—requesting tax-related information on property accountsHandles daily property tax mail, ensuring timely distribution to the appropriate tax staffResponsible for scanning water charge, accounts receivable charge and returned payment non-sufficient funds letters added to property tax accounts to correspondence on tax systemScans and uploads returned mail to the appropriate property tax account correspondence within the tax systemScans and upload in-person preauthorized payment program applications to property tax account correspondence on tax systemPerforms data entry of contact information from Preauthorized Payment Program applications into property tax accounts within the tax systemAssists with matching and stuffing supplementary tax bills into envelopes for mailing.Responsible for ordering office supplies for the tax and assessment staffFiles paper tax rolls received from Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) in roll number orderAssists tax staff in organizing and boxing outgoing year end files for offsite storageEducation & ExperienceMinimum Requirements:Certificate/diploma in a post secondary programOne (1) year customer serviceBasic experience in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Outlook, Word and ExcelExcellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skillsAptitude for figures and detail orientedStrong organizational and time management skillsPreferred:Certificate/diploma in a post secondary program specific to business administration or related fieldThree (3) year customer service, Municipal Experience and Property Tax ExperienceKnowledge of property taxation and understanding of municipal government and local roles and responsibilitiesAnnual Salary Range: $49,167 - $61, hours/week)Eligible to participate in the OMERS pension planPaid time-off (vacation and incidental time)9-month contract with a possibility of extensionAbout MiltonAt the Town of Milton, we provide excellent and sustainable municipal services to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where residents thrive, businesses flourish and nature is cherished.We are laying the groundwork for our vision for Milton 2051: a safe, diverse and welcoming community that respects its natural beauty and heritage, supports a range of neighbourhoods, sustains a strong and balanced economy, and offers outstanding opportunities to live, learn, work and play.How to ApplyInterested applicants should apply online at under the Employment Opportunities section.
