At Transit Line we pay special attention to the development of our international departments and divisions. As a multinational team, we are looking for the General Manager of Branch at Mumbai, India.


1. Key Tasks and Responsibilities.

General Manager will have to launch the Branch Office from zero, constantly expand Transit Line’s market presence in the allocated region and to arrange all business processes connected to shipments in both import and export directions:


1.1. Operational activities:

- Launching the Branch Office from zero; accomplish all necessary legal, commercial, administration and recruitment arrangements connecting with it;

- Arrangement of all business processes connected with empty and laden shipments in both import and export directions;

- Contract conclusion, close cooperation and development of the relationships with terminals, ports and depots;

- Settlement of all carrier processes, including vessel handling, cargo releasing, empties storage and repositions, etc.;

- Booking system optimization.


1.2. Marketing and Sales management:

- Constant expansion of Transit Line’s market presence in the allocated region;

- Development of the allocated trade lanes, managing a team to achieve target cargo volumes;

- Market analysis, searching for new business development opportunities;

- Development of strong relationships with existing and new international customers, carriers and partners;

- Preparation of performance reports on a regular basis.


1.3. Team management and Branch development:

- Management of the Branch team;

- Provision of professional growth to Branch employees, KPI development.



2. Required Background and Skills.

We are looking for a candidate with strong leaderships and communication skills, who has a Bachelor degree at the field of speciality related to logistics and at least 10 years of proven successful experience in logistics, international shipping line and management:


- Bachelor degree in the field of logistics, management or related specialty;

- At least 10 years of proven successful experience in logistics and international shipping line, including experience in management;

- Understanding of local operations based on slot arrangements;

- Fluent English and Hindi languages; knowledge of Russian language will be an advantage;

- Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate and inspire the team;

- Excellent communication skills and strategic planning abilities;

- Readiness for frequent business trips, both within the country and abroad.
