Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the setup and expansion of retail operations for a chain of car accessory garages across India. The National Retail Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of new garage locations, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, driving sales, and ensuring a seamless customer experience across all retail outlets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. *Retail Strategy Development*:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive retail operations strategy for setting up and expanding car accessory garages across key cities and regions in India.
- Identify potential locations for new garages based on market demand, competition, and business growth objectives.
2. *Retail Operations Setup*:
- Oversee the entire process of setting up new retail outlets, including site selection, lease negotiations, legal compliance, and store fit-outs.
- Work with local teams to ensure smooth setup, staffing, and timely launch of new locations.
3. *Vendor and Supplier Management*:
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of car accessories and other necessary products.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining high-quality standards.
4. *Sales and Profitability*:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for each garage.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure a high level of customer service and customer satisfaction across all outlets.
5. *Team Leadership and Training*:
- Recruit, train, and manage store managers and staff across all locations.
- Implement ongoing training programs to ensure employees are knowledgeable about car accessories and provide exceptional customer service.
6. *Operational Efficiency*:
- Standardize operational processes, including inventory management, merchandising, sales reporting, and customer service protocols.
- Ensure each garage operates within the budget, optimizes stock levels, and reduces operational costs without compromising quality.
7. *Marketing and Promotions*:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to design and implement local and national marketing campaigns to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
- Plan promotional events and offers to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
8. *Compliance and Safety*:
- Ensure that all retail locations adhere to national and local regulations, including health and safety standards, labor laws, and automotive industry regulations.
9. *Reporting and Analysis*:
- Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, operational challenges, customer satisfaction, and expansion progress.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously improve operations and drive business growth.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in retail operations, with at least 3 years in a national or regional role.
• Proven experience in setting up and scaling retail operations across multiple locations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the automotive or car accessories industry is preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India.
This position will require extensive travel across India, with a base location in a major metropolitan city such as Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore.
