>>About E&S (Education & Skilling) Advisory
The Indian education and skill development sector has seen an accelerated growth and a rapid shift towards digital-learning models recently, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift has bought about an increased requirement of digital assets, infrastructure, upskilling of teachers and content. With the requirement of tech-enabled learning solutions to only accelerate further, the Government is laying down new frameworks, and adopting an even more holistic and futuristic approach towards education and skill development.
The education and skill development practice of KPMG in India comprises a team of experienced professionals delivering forward-looking advisory services across the spectrum, such as K-12 education including Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), foundational literacy and numeracy skills, Technical and Vocational Education, and Training (TVET), higher education, education technology, and supplementary education.
We are a part of the KPMG Connected Enterprise for higher education and a key member of the KPMG Global Steering Committee for education and skill development. Our team has delivered multiple engagements in the past decade, catering to a wide range of clients, including the central and state governments, regulators, public institutions, private educational institutions, corporates, not-for profit organizations, with bilateral and multi- lateral donors, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), foundations and ed-tech players.
>>Job Summary
KPMG’s Education and Skills Advisory team, works with multiple clients and projects that demands design and execution of marketing initiatives, developing a communication plan and executing outreach events and activities both in the online as well as offline formats. The role is expected to build a strong network of higher education institutions, academic organizations, and industry bodies to enable strong adoption of digital and offline products and services.
>>Key Responsibilities:
#Technology strategy development and execution-
- Exhibit expertise in languages like JavaScript, Python, or Ruby, and frameworks such as React or Django, essential for developing scalable web applications.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and management of Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and all required customization and third-party tool integration.
- Utilize cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for application deployment, ensuring scalability and security.
- Use database systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and analytics tools to support data-driven decisions.
- Use latest methodologies and tools for effective planning and execution of technology projects, third-party vendors and outsourced teams, ensuring quality and adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Understand cybersecurity best practices and data protection laws to ensure the security and privacy of educational data.
- Play a key role in the design and evolution of the technology architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance of the educational platform.
- Proficient in integrating diverse APIs to enhance platform capabilities and user experience, facilitating seamless communication between different software tools and systems.
#Product development support-
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define clear and actionable product requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, addressing any concerns or discrepancies to ensure the delivery of high-quality marketing events and campaigns.
- Compare the clients / internal teams’ technology stack and product offerings against leading and emerging EdTech platforms, identifying areas for improvement or differentiation.
- Stay at the forefront of technology in education by researching and implementing new tools and practices aimed at enhancing user experience and learning outcomes.
- Data analysis and decision support:
- Skilled in developing intuitive, data-driven dashboards that provide actionable insights, empowering both educators and learners with real-time data visualization.
- Routinely gather data from various sources within the platform, including user engagement metrics, learning outcomes, and system performance data.
- Analyze the available data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement for the product.
- Create comprehensive reports and dashboards that summarize analysis findings, providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the company.
>>Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
>>Preferred Skills:
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in technology development, product management, preferably within the education sector
- Proven track record of successfully developing and deploying large technology solutions in the education sector.
- Strong network of contacts within the higher education industry, including academic leaders, administrators, and decision-makers.
- Excellent understanding of the challenges and trends in higher education and familiarity with learning technologies and solutions in this context.
- Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify market opportunities and develop effective business strategies.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
