Job Summary A Commis I - Continental is a skilled junior cook responsible for preparing cooking and presenting food items in the continental section of the kitchen They support the Chef de Partie ensure high-quality standards and help maintain kitchen hygiene mise en place and operational efficiency Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation Cooking Prepare mise en place for assigned dishes vegetables sauces meats garnishes Cook and present continental dishes according to standardized recipes Assist in preparing breakfast lunch and dinner items grills pastas salads soups etc Ensure proper portioning plating and consistency Quality Standards Maintain high standards of taste appearance and hygiene Ensure all food produced complies with quality and safety guidelines Check freshness and storage conditions of ingredients Kitchen Operations Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef Coordinate with other sections to ensure smooth service Properly label store and rotate stock FIFO Hygiene Safety Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work station Follow food safety HACCP and sanitation protocols Use kitchen equipment safely and report any defects Teamwork Learning Support colleagues during busy periods Learn new techniques and improve skill levels Assist in training Commis II or kitchen trainees when required Skills Qualifications Experience as Commis II junior cook 1-2 years Knowledge of continental cuisine techniques grills sauces sauteing baking Basic knife skills and food preparation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced structured kitchen Good communication and teamwork Culinary school diploma preferred but not always required Behavioral Competencies Attention to detail Discipline and punctuality Clean and organized work habits Eagerness to learn Ability to handle pressure Job Type Full-time Pay 18 000 00 - 22 000 00 per month
