MS SQL Administrator will design build implement and maintain an enterprise-class SQL Server Database Infrastructure This position will analyze plan build upgrade and provide support for both existing SQL Server platforms and those considered for future use The role will also include responsibilities in scripting automation and working with various data formats Experience-Education Required 8 years experience working with MS SQL Server on-prem and Azure SQL environments 1 years experience managing access in Snowflake Experience with Windows OS and VMware Experience in database administration Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell JSON and YAML Must have previous experience building and provisioning complex SQL Server solutions with an understanding of networking infrastructure and security fundamentals Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience Competencies-Skills Required Expertise in MS SQL Server Administration Proficiency in managing maintaining and troubleshooting SQL Server and Azure SQL databases Database Design Understanding of database design principles and normalization T-SQL Proficiency in Transact-SQL T-SQL Performance Tuning Ability to optimize database performance through indexing query optimization and configuration settings Database Security Knowledge of principles and best practices for securing databases High Availability and Disaster Recovery Experience with strategies and technologies for ensuring database availability and data recovery Automation Experience with automating database tasks and processes Proven record collaborating across teams Demonstrated ability communicating to large groups in a professional environment Easily adapt to changes in work priorities incident response and technology advancements as they pertain to day-to-day demand Able to assess analyze and plan deployments and database upgrades Provide responsive concise input and remain actively involved in troubleshooting through point of resolution Provide data for capacity planning and performance metrics Must be able to produce process documentation technical diagrams and related documentation Experience-Education Preferred Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience 8 years experience as a contributing member of an Enterprise IT SQL Server Infrastructure team delivering results 5 years leveraging ITSM processes to manage service requests 1 years experience managing access in Snowflake Experience working within agile development teams with a consistent and steady focus towards the promotion of a DevOps model Competencies-Skills Preferred Experience providing support and technical resolution for SQL Server technology projects Ability to contribute to 3-5 year view of technologies roadmap relevant to area of responsibility Able to communicate effectively and work within a cross functional team environment Ability to effectively discern and quickly understand LOLs unique business needs while articulating current capabilities which could suitably assist with or solve the need in a cost-effective manner Experience with Windows Server Administration a plus Experience with Oracle
