Business Unit Cubic Transportation Systems Company Details The Director of Systems Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction design and execution of complex engineering systems across the organization This position oversees multidisciplinary teams ensures seamless integration of hardware and software systems and leads initiatives that span requirements management validation verification and cloud infrastructure expansion The role demands a blend of technical expertise visionary leadership and operational excellence to support business growth and innovation Job Details Key Responsibilities Leadership Strategy Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement Develop and execute strategic plans for systems infrastructure aligning with business goals and future technology trends Represent the systems engineering function in executive discussions providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership Train coach and mentor engineering staff to build technical capabilities leadership skills and career growth Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across teams through structured programs and informal guidance Systems Design Integration Define and influence system architecture and technical requirements from concept through deployment Oversee the integration of hardware software and networking components into cohesive high-performing systems Ensure systems are scalable secure and aligned with industry best practices Lifecycle Management Lead the development documentation and management of technical requirements throughout the system lifecycle Drive validation and verification processes to ensure systems meet functional and performance expectations Champion process improvements and lead efforts toward applicable certifications Cloud Infrastructure Maintain and drive reference architecture into cloud platforms e g AWS Oversee the design and implementation of scalable secure and cost-effective AWS-based solutions Ensure robust documentation of system configurations processes and procedures Stakeholder Engagement Provide regular progress reports and technical presentations to senior management and cross-functional teams Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers for procurement support and issue resolution Ensure alignment of technical projects with stakeholder expectations and organizational priorities Qualifications Experience Bachelor s degree in Engineering Computer Science or a related field Master s preferred 15 years of experience in systems engineering with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering projects and cross-functional teams Deep understanding of systems engineering principles lifecycle processes and industry standards Expertise in system design implementation and maintenance across diverse platforms Proficiency in automation and scripting to enhance system efficiency Strong project management communication and stakeholder engagement skills Additional Information This job description is not exhaustive and may evolve based on business needs Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background verification Worker Type Employee
