Job Description: Managing Director (MD) Company: Bravo Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. Location: Andheri (East), Mumbai Reporting To: Management Industry: Ship Management Position Overview Bravo Ship Management India is a fastest growing shipping company looking for Managing Director position focusing on a ship owner/managers operations and business development. Ensuring effective and efficient operations and communication, The Managing Director will establish positive relationships with vessel personnel and possess strong management and organization skills. This role demands strong leadership, business acumen, deep operational knowledge of global shipping standards, and the ability to lead a growing organization into a respected global brand. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Define and execute the strategic plan, working closely with the Chairman, key stakeholders, and the management team to position Bravo Ship Management as a leading in-house and third-party ship management provider. - Establish a scalable operational structure in line with future fleet expansion. - Build business development channels to onboard external owners and long-term clients along with bid submission. Operational Oversight - Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in line with industry regulations (ISM, ISPS, MLC, TMSA, IMO guidelines, flag/port state requirements). - Drive KPIs across technical, crewing, procurement, safety, vetting, PMS, and operations performance. - Oversee budgeting, OPEX control, dry-docking strategy, and capital expenditure planning. Technical & Compliance Governance - Maintain high standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance. - Lead office audits, SIRE inspections, Class interactions, and ensure readiness for oil major vetting. Commercial & Growth Strategy - Identify and convert external management opportunities while protecting operational integrity and existing fleet commitments. - Collaborate with Group Finance on financial modeling, cost control, margin management, and contract negotiations. People & Culture - Build and mentor a high-performance leadership team. · Keeps the Chairman / Board fully advised on fleet and individual vessel performance, condition, operations, safety, service reliability and readiness issues. · Maintains strong relationships with Ship Owners, Class society, Flag State, Labor, Shipyards and Vendors. · Establish clear processes, policies, career progression pathways, and performance systems. - Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, safety, and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience - Minimum 15 years of shore experience in the maritime sector with at least 5 years in a senior ship management leadership role. - Sailing background as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer. - Proven track record of managing mixed fleets (tankers/containers/dry cargo). - Demonstrated success in managing owners’ expectations and third-party commercial relationships. - Strong understanding of technical operations, crewing models, budgeting, PMS systems, and marine regulations. · Familiarity with society rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, Lloyds).
