Job Category Category Management Commodity Manager - Mechanical HVAC Commodities Coil Sheet Metal piping Busbar Heat Sink Pump Shell Tube evaporator Liquid Cooling About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Commodity Manager with minimum 8 - 10 years of experience to join our dynamic procurement team In this critical role you will be responsible for eloping and executing sourcing strategies for Localization Global Sourcing Project Management handling a wide range of Mechanical products Valves Pumps Compressors Heat exchanger coils piping HVAC Components etc You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality Mechanical components to support our company s growth and innovation Key Responsibilities Sourcing Strategy Development for HVAC Commodities Localization Global Sourcing Project Management Experience and proven track record of Direct Commodity handling Experience in China 1 Localization in India Exposure about India landscape and Suppliers footprint in Mechanical components Hands on experience in supplier identification or supplier base knowledge in India for fabricated components mechanical parts valves tubes fittings pumps piping Coils etc Preferably work under project based business environment Preferably work under High mix low volume business environment Experience in working with Indian Suppliers for export Good understanding of UL CE BIS etc Ability to communicate globally stake holders alignment India for global alignment Make in India Experience Global mindset with strong local knowledge Conduct market research and analysis to identify and qualify potential suppliers Develop and implement competitive sourcing strategies benchmarking including RFQs negotiations and contract awards Identify and evaluate new technologies and suppliers to ensure a competitive advantage Supplier Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers Monitor supplier performance and address any quality delivery or cost-related issues Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality cost and delivery Contract Management Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers ensuring compliance with all relevant terms and conditions Monitor contract performance and identify any potential risks or issues Cost Management Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives such as value engineering and supplier consolidation Resourcing Track and analyze commodity prices and market trends Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure cost competitiveness Supply Chain Optimization Collaborate with cross-functional teams e g engineering operations logistics to optimize the supply chain Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules Integrate sustainability considerations into all sourcing decisions Work with suppliers to promote responsible sourcing practices and reduce environmental impact Data Analysis and Reporting Track and analyze key performance indicators KPIs such as cost quality and delivery etc Prepare regular reports on sourcing activities and performance Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management Engineering Business or related field 10 years of experience in commodity management procurement or related field Proven experience in sourcing and managing Mechanical HVAC components Strong understanding of Material Metal technologies and market trends Excellent negotiation and communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools Experience with ERP systems e g SAP Oracle preferred Experience in a fast-paced high-growth environment preferred Skills Strategic Sourcing Supplier Negotiation Contract Management Market Analysis Cost Reduction Supply Chain Optimization Data Analysis Communication Collaboration Project Management About the Team Work Authorization No calls or agencies please Vertiv will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided Individuals with temporary visas such as E F-1 H-1 H-2 L B J or TN or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire Equal Opportunity Employer We promote equal opportunities for all with respect to hiring terms of employment mobility training compensation and occupational health without discrimination as to age race color religion creed sex pregnancy status including childbirth breastfeeding or related medical conditions marital status sexual orientation gender identity expression including transgender status or sexual stereotypes genetic information citizenship status national origin protected veteran status political affiliation or disability
