Job Description Job Title:Business Development Manager India Location: India (Preferred: Mumbai) Industry: Engines, Hybrid Systems, Gearboxes, Range Extenders Company: Global Leading European Powertrain Solutions Provider Position Summary Our client, a globally recognized European leader in powertrain technologies, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive its expansion in the Indian market. This role will play a critical part in building market presence, developing strategic partnerships, and capturing new business opportunities in the rapidly evolving powertrain and automotive sector. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive business development and growth strategy for India. Identify, approach, and build strong relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and strategic partners. Lead market research and competitive analysis to uncover opportunities across engines, hybrid systems, gearboxes, and range extenders. Drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, negotiations, and long-term business alliances. Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Work closely with global product, engineering, and strategy teams to align offerings with customer needs. Ensure compliance with local business regulations, commercial practices, and industry standards. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5 years of business development experience in the powertrain or automotive sector (engines, hybrid solutions, gearboxes, EV/hybrid components, etc.). Demonstrated ability to expand market presence and secure strategic partnerships in India. Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. Fluency in English and at least one major Indian language (preferably Hindi). Excellent understanding of the Indian automotive ecosystem, industry dynamics, and market regulations. Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build business from the ground up.
