Requirements
The Head of E-commerce is a resilient, reasoned, and execution-driven leader responsible for building and scaling a high-performing direct-to-consumer (D2C) digital business. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly to changing market dynamics while embedding innovation at scale.
The leader will drive end-to-end transformation—integrating customer experience, cutting-edge technology, automation, and AI—to deliver profitable growth and a world-class digital journey. They will own P&L accountability, balance speed of execution with sustainable growth levers, and ensure operational agility across marketing, technology, logistics, and customer touchpoints.
With a strong technology backbone and comfort with data-driven decision-making, this leader will ensure the business not only scales but continuously innovates in a competitive landscape. A key requirement is proven experience in conceptualizing and directing the creation of premium D2C websites—knowing exactly how to translate brand vision into an engaging, seamless, and high-conversion online buying platform. This does not require coding or development skills, but the ability to guide agencies, designers, and tech partners to build the right digital storefront for the brand.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Spearhead the D2C e-commerce roadmap aligned with the brand's growth ambitions.
- Drive digital transformation by integrating customer experience, technology, and operations.
- Define and monitor KPIs related to e-commerce growth, conversion, CAC/LTV, and retention.
P&L Ownership
- Manage and optimize the full e-commerce P&L including revenues, costs, and profitability.
- Identify levers for scale while balancing margins, logistics costs, and marketing spends.
Team Building & Collaboration
- Lead a cross-functional team of 10–15+ members across performance marketing, analytics, content, tech, and operations.
- Build internal capability while managing agency and tech partner relationships.
Customer Experience & Website Ownership
- Deliver a frictionless, delightful, and premium online buying experience for high-value jewellery shoppers.
- Envision and direct the development of a premium D2C website that reflects the brand’s identity and maximizes online sales.
- Ensure the website is customer-first, intuitive, and optimized for conversions in collaboration with design, marketing, and tech partners.
- Leverage analytics to track customer journeys and improve NPS and repeat purchase rates.
Digital Marketing & Tech Integration
- Drive performance marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, social, influencer) with ROI-focused planning.
- Own CRM, personalization, and re-targeting strategies to increase LTV.
- Collaborate with tech teams to implement robust e-commerce platforms and analytics dashboards.
Business & Operational Excellence
- Ensure inventory visibility, logistics integration, and seamless order fulfillment.
- Introduce new digital products and D2C offerings in alignment with customer trends.

Experience Bracket
- 8–10 years of e-commerce experience, including 5+ years in D2C leadership roles.
- Domain expertise in jewellery, fashion, luxury, or high-ticket lifestyle brands.
- Proven track record of delivering profitable online business scale.
- Experience in leading website creation projects as core revenue-driving platforms.
